Witch Hazel is one of the most popular and enduring botanical medicines. Unlike simple astringents, Witch Hazel contains essential oils like eugenol which stimulate circulation. This herb can be used internally (not the commercial distilled product) and externally. It is appropriate for bruises, sprains, hemorrhoids, episiotomy incisions, bleeding gums, acute diarrhea, apthous stomatata, and for hemoptysis.
