The original source of the confection marshmallows. The root is demulcent and diuretic and it is wonderful for irritated, inflamed mucous membranes in the bladder, stomach, small and large intestines. The most soothing of all urinary herbs, this root is effective for interstitial cystitis, urethritis and common cystitis. It can also be utilized for gastric ulcers, hiatal hernia, GERD, gastritis, and dry coughs. |
