Horehound is known as a lung herb, used as an expectorant and cough suppressant. It is appropriate for dry sticky mucus, irritated coughing and coughs from viral conditions (chest colds, bronchitis). Horehound is also an effective digestive bitter, stimulating bile secretion and pancreatic juice.
