Traditional Information* |
The seed of this herb is the common spice coriander. The leaves are used in Mexican, Indian and Thai cuisine for their unique spicy flavor and to prevent and relieve gas and nausea. Recent use has focused on this plant’s alleged ability to increase heavy metal excretion, especially of mercury. There is no scientific data to support this belief, but many clinicians claim to have seen benefits in practice. Cilantro is useful for flatulence and borborygmus, intestinal viruses, and bacterial diarrhea. |
